"Week 6: Bending Over Forward
Practitioners measure embryos as small as yours from precious little crown to cute little rump. That's because as your baby grows, his or her legs will be bent, making it hard to measure the full length of the body. This week your baby's crown-to-rump measurement is anywhere from a fifth to a quarter of an inch, and growing — making it the size of a sweet pea (your little sweet pea!).
So, if your womb had a view, what would you see? The folds of tissue in the prominent bump on top (the head) are developing into your baby's jaws, cheeks, and chin. And are those little indentations on both sides of the head the adorable dimples you always hoped your baby would inherit from your mom's side of the family? No, they're ear canals in the making. Small bumps on the face will form the eyes and button nose in a few weeks time. Also taking shape this week: your baby's kidneys, liver, and lungs."

p.s. Praise be to God--I'm feeling great, just tired with a capital "T". So, I'm trying to listen to my body when it says rest. It's hard for a not-easily-resting person, but I'm being humbled into this place of rest for-the-sake-of the babe and this miraculous work going on inside the belly, already learning about the sacrifices of the mama that I've heard about for so long! Coveting your prayers for all of our continued health and strength over the coming days, weeks and months...

Oh, sweet Krystal,
It is ALL worth it as the mighty Creator knits this wee one together. And the amazing thing is, despite the pain, you will want to do it all over again--someday :) Love you.
I love you! Motherhood is such an awesome thing, something that will change you forever. It is so special to read all about what the baby is doing and what it looks like now. :)
Isn't it a miracle, Crystal? You guys are embarking on the GREATEST time of your lives. Darren and I always reflect back to when we were pregnant with Ethan (our firstborn) and have such wonderful feelings rise up in us...it was such a cherished and precious time in our lives. We even saved this little "baby box" sorta thing from when we brought him home from the hospital, and we saved all these little odds and ends in it, like the diapers he first wore, and a baby comb, etc. but one of the things we saved was the bar of soap they washed him with that first day of life (yes, they used BARS of soap back then :). and if we're really feeling like "going back", we pull that box out and open it and inhale SO DEEPLY and WE ARE THERE! the scent of that soap just takes us right back...we love it! Scents can really do that. Well, all that to say...you guys are in a season that God planned out for you before the beginning of time and it's finally here...you are finally living this unforgettable season out. you're not looking back....or breathing in the 'soap smell'...you're LIVING it! what a blessed time!! agh!! I love it!
anyways, I'll have to email you with all this excitement and words of wisdom I want to share with you guys. I've sorta already taken this comment "beyond a 'comment'"...sorry~!
Love you guys...:)
